TRAVEL INFORMATION Know Before You Go

Bigfork

Bigfork, Montana, is a storybook village hugging the sparkling blue bay where the Swan River flows into Flathead Lake. This picturesque community is set among sought-after Flathead Valley scenery and offers proximity to Kalispell, Glacier National Park and federal and state public lands. Nearby, the cherry orchards that dot Flathead lake pop in mid-summer, offering a magical lakeside setting. Bigfork also features Montana’s most idyllic Christmas Village every holiday season—a festive winter wonderland among a quaint and historic downtown waterfront village. Noteworthy features include the rodeo grounds (with easy access from state highways 35 and 82), the scenic Swan River Nature Trail from which the "Wild Mile" part of the Bigfork Whitewater Festival can be seen and accessed for filming, Bigfork Bay, the giant fork sculpture and the Swiss-chalet style Bigfork Inn. Here you’ll also find numerous shops, a summer playhouse, art galleries, fine dining, ample lodging and services production companies look for when scouting.
